A race car is no place for cheap hardware! Hardware store bolts lack the strength and quality control to be safely used. Carroll Smith points out in his books that America has a large defense industry that establishes extremely high specifications and standards for hardware, and it is available to the general public at a comparatively modest price. Therefore, IRP carries an entire line of Mil-Spec bolts, lock nuts and washers. IRP also sells mixed assortments of commonly-used bolts and nuts. Check our Prep Shop package of more than 200 pieces in 1/4, 5/16 and 3/8 inch with various grip lengths for $75. To make the selection of bolts easier and quicker, order IRPs AN bolt gauge, part #30-AN-15, $13.
Rod ends. Most manufacturers carry a wide range of differing quality rod ends. Some are quite good; others are barely suited for use on a riding lawn mower. Be careful to make certain what you are ordering! IRP carries rod ends of chrome moly steel with teflon liners. Most are nickel-plated. Prices start at $35 for a 3/8" rod end.
IRP also carries:
Dzus fasteners, springs and backing plates
Rubber body
